Eli Dinger and Stephen Thomas won the May 2nd Deep East High School Fishing series Tournament with 12.98 lbs of bass while Colmesneil High School Teammates Randall Patrick and Jake Patillo made it a one-two finish with 10.62 lbs to keep both teams near the top of the year to date standings for the first Deep East Texas Championship.
Patrick and Patillo's second place finished comes after their first place performance on March 28th. Third place went LCM Bass Club Trent Brown and Matthew Haliburton with 10.48 lb and fourth was anchored by Hunter Curry and Josh Russell from the Broaddus Bulldog Fishing Team with 9.70 lbs.
The series is coming down to the final two weekends May 23rd and May 30th to qualify for the Championship set to run concurrently with the SAF American Legion National High School Qualifier to be held on June 27 and 28th at the Bill and Emily Shelton Pavilion.
The weekend of May 30th will also have Jackson Hill Marina hosting the B.A.S.S. Texas State High School Championship.
