Jason Courville and Marshall Braus proved once again that size limits only apply to the fish as the sixth grade team surprised the field at the second DETX qualifier. The young team managed to boat 19.43 lbs including a 6.61 lb kicker to outlast 75 other high school teams for the the win.
Corrigan High School's Christopher Cobb and Jacob Gregory came in second with 17.13 lbs and West Sabine's Hunter Muncrief and Landon McCary anchored third place with 15.64 lbs. and hold a small lead heading into this weeks qualifier.
We are excited to see our Junior teams doing so well. This year we have allowed a small number of younger anglers to fish DETX both for a Junior Championship but also to be able to directly compete with the High Schol anglers. This is in anticipation of expanding DETX and having a separate Junior and High School Bassmaster Series next year.
