Bright and Nequent win with 27.35 pounds

Despite the predicted wind and storms for The Texscape Services Bass n' Bugs Tournament presented by Tackle Addict, 63 teams decided to roll the dice and hope the weathermen were wrong. It turned out they were half wrong. The wind did indeed blow up to 25 mph out of the south, but fortunately they were wrong about the storms. The thunderstorms held off until Sunday allowing for a good day of fishing on Saturday, especially good for Brian Bright and Chris Nequent. They caught a massive stringer of bass weighing 27.35 pounds. Right on their heels was the team of Johnny Vines and Shannon Price with five big ones weighing 26.76. Finishing out the top three was the father-son team of Ty and Jason Moorhead with 22.07.

The Pride Rods Big Bass was won by the team of Brian Adams and Brandon McKee with a pre-spawn female weighing 8.97 pounds. A monster of a fish, but it was not quite big enough to take over the lead for the Monster Mount Big Bass Award. Clint Lipham remains our leader for the free replica sponsored by Scottie's Reproductions.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jun. 25)

GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.58 feet above pool. Bass are shallow early in the pencil and hay grass with topwater baits. Then bass move to points and drains with Carolina rigs and jigs. Crappie are slowly moving to brush piles, with a better bite on the south end of the lake and Ash Bayou. Jigs and minnows are working equally. Bluegill are on brush piles. Catfish are transitioning from the creeks to the main lake on points and channel bends with cut bait or stink bait. Report by Captain Lynn Atkinson, Reel Um N Guide Service.
