Bryan and Tyler Landers were the leaders going into The Championship with a narrow lead of only 5 points over second place and 14 points over third place. When the scales closed on Day 1, Team Landers still held onto their lead, but the third place team of Bryan Lohr and Harold Moore had whittled away their deficit to just 10 points. The second place team of Mark and Kaden Mueck had a rough day and had some ground to make up on Day 2.

Day 2 turned into a full day of drama when it came to the Outlaw Of The Year race! The third place team of Bryan Lohr and Harold Moore were first to weigh in, taking over the lead for OOY. Mark and Kaden Mueck were the next team to weigh in and needed to move into 13th place or higher to take over the lead. The scales locked in on 13.05 putting them in 14th place resulting in a tie for Outlaw Of The Year.

The team leading the race still had to weigh in. Bryan and Tyler Landers had led the race for the last 4 months and had a solid bag of fish on Day 1 weighing 14.05 pounds. The Outlaw Of The Year title was theirs to be won. They controlled their own destiny. It turned out Rayburn was not just mean, it was downright angry to the Landers boys only giving them 6 pounds on Day 2. This meant, after 5 tournaments, we had two teams tied with 956.5 points.

How do we solve this? Initially, the teams agreed to a two hour fish off to settle the tie, but after the adrenaline wore off, pure exhaustion prevailed after 2 days of practice and 2 days of tournament competition. Fortunately, all sponsors for the awards were present and a compromise was reached. Rambo Outdoors agreed to give BOTH teams $1,000 while the Dylan Williams Insurance boat wrap will be put on 16 year old Kaden's new boat.
