Dupuy Takes First Place in Big Bass Splash

Groves angler Ralph Dupuy finished in first place in the Sealy Outdoors Big Bass Splash fishing tournament at Umphrey Pavillion in Lake Sam Rayburn. Dupuy's catch on the preceding hour window on Friday weighed 12.05 pounds, earning him a $1,500 payout for the biggest bass. It then held up through the rest of weekend, earning him the grand prize package: a 2018 Triton 22 TrX, powered by Mercury, equipped with Minn Kota, Lowrance, Navionics and Power Pole; 2018 RAM Truck, plus $10,000.

Lake Sam Rayburn Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 12)

Water stained; 89–93 degrees; 3.56’ low. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse jigs over brush piles. Bream are fair on crickets and nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with shrimp and cut bait.
