Ben Suit's 4 Pound Bass

Ben Suit's 4 Pound Bass

Ben Suit’s bass was the first 4-pound even bass of the third day, Oct. 11. The bass earned him $5,000 at the Sealy Big Bass Splash tournament at Lake Sam Rayburn. It also finished 11th in the 9-10 a.m. hour to fetch another $350.
Sunday morning, Suit was throwing a Whopper Plopper in an undisclosed color when the 4-pounder bit along the edge of hydrilla in 4-foot depths in the Veach Basin area of Lake Sam Rayburn. He and his co-angler had another solid bass to go with it but chose to stay there

Fishing Report from TPWD (Dec. 4)

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 62 degrees; 2.70 feet below pool. Bass are improving in shallow water where fish are chasing the bait into pockets. Target whatever brush and grass you can find and flip into it with your favorite lure. Crappie are slowly moving up the river. Catfish are good in 15-26 feet of water on cut bait and minnows. Report by Captain Lynn Atkinson, Reel Um N Guide Service.
